The product is dairy, Cholov Stam and should bear the STAR-D symbol.

There is a new line of meat from Tomer, which is certified by Triangle K and Rabbi Elimelech Lebowitz. Please note that this meat is non-glatt and is not on STAR-K's list of recommended meat products. It is sold at various outlets including Costco and Wegmans.
At Wegmans in the Baltimore area it is displayed next to glatt Kosher meat, and it is very easy to confuse the two products.

Please note the following regarding Wegmans supermarket in Owings Mills, MD:
Chickens are being sold with the following in-store statement: "Our Kosher rotisserie chickens are made with kosher ingredients using dedicated equipment and utensils. However, there is no rabbinical supervision."
Please be aware that Jewish law stipulates that all meat and poultry items require rabbinical supervision throughout, including the cooking process.

We have just been informed that the GE Monogram 48" Side-by-Side Refrigerator without through the door ice service (Monogram Model #ZISS480NHBSS) with Sabbath kit ZSAB1 has a Sabbath Mode issue. Even in Sabbath Mode, when the freezer door is open the fan may shut off immediately. GE is working to provide a replacement control board to be installed free of charge. UPDATE AS OF OCTOBER 13, 2016: To determine if your model is affected, inspect the rating plate located in the bottom of the refrigerator compartment.  It will be necessary to remove the pan to view the printed information.  Affected models begin with the letters ‘ZIS’.  The serial numbers affected include VF033819 and higher.  If your model and serial number match these criteria, please call 1-800-742-4429 to schedule a no-cost upgrade.  In the meantime, to use your model on the Sabbath and holidays, turn the Sabbath mode on AND tape down two (2) white switches located above the freezer door so the light remains off.

Effective immediately, coconut oil manufactured by Oleofats, Inc., of Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines, is no longer certified by STAR-K due to Kashrus violations.

A single lot of California Delight Precooked Corn on the Cob is being recalled due to infestation issues.
The affected lot, expiration 08-15-17, has been found to be infested and it is being removed from the shelves. Consumers may return the product to the store for a refund.

Please be advised that Peachwave Frozen Yogurt stores are not certified by the STAR-K. The use of the STAR-K symbol in the stores is unauthorized. Corrective action is being taken.

Please be advised that packages of fresh cut carrots and products containing fresh carrots, distributed by East Coast Fresh of Savage, Maryland, with a sell by date of July 17, 2016 or earlier bear an unauthorized Star-K symbol. These are products of Israel and Terumos & Maasros must be taken. The above applies to both retail packages sold under the brand name of Nature’s Kitchen and wholesale containers with a label that states “packed by East Coast Fresh.”
Corrective action is being taken.

We have been advised that the following STAR-K certified LG gas ranges have a Sabbath Mode that does not work properly: LDG3031, LDG3035, LDG3036.

These models turn off 30 seconds after the oven door is opened, and turn on immediately after the door is closed. Serial numbers 304MMXX to 506MMXX do not have this problem.

If you own one of these models, contact LG for a fix.

Until you get the fix  you need to install an oven “ShabboSwitch”. This device is available at your local bookstore or online. Any method of keeping the plunger switch on the frame of the oven depressed will work.  If using tape, make sure it can withstand the heat of the oven. (Duct tape may not work.)

Please note that you still need to put your oven into Sabbath Mode before Shabbos or Yom Tov, even if you have installed a "ShabboSwitch".

Please be advised that Nature’s Sunshine Pau D’Arco (Stock # 504-2 with a Hebrew label) bears an unauthorized Star-K symbol. It is a gelatin capsule product and is not kosher. The product was distributed in Israel. Corrective action is being taken.
