Kingston Cocoa Grinder, located at 227 Kingston Ave., Brooklyn, New York, is no longer certified by STAR-K.

Fondant from David Rosen Bakery Supply, in industrial sized containers, bears an unauthorized STAR-K symbol. Corrective action is being taken.

Please be advised that Starbucks has decided to end the expanded STAR-K Kosher information program
Consumers are advised that effective immediately the STAR-K can no longer vouch for the kashrus of many of the items previously listed as recommended at these stores.
Items no longer approved include Frappuccinos, Mocha, and Caramel Sauce.
All recommendations for unflavored coffee are still the same.

In addition, Starbucks has also decided to end the kosher-friendly store program which was available in select stores in NY and NJ.

Effective immediately, both locations of Filicori Zecchini Cafe, at 2541 Broadway, New York, New York, and at 42 E. 46th Street, New York, New York, are under new management and are no longer certified Kosher.

PLEASE NOTE: There are some new models of GE Monogram refrigerators that cannot be adapted to include a Sabbath mode. The previously available kits are no longer compatible with these models. Pure Green Grapeshot juice, distributed by Pure Green in the New York area, bears an unauthorized Star-K. This product contains grape juice and is not kosher. The product is being recalled.

If you plan to leave on a flame on your gas cooktop (especially covered with a blech) or plan to leave your gas oven on over YomTov, make sure that the area is well ventilated. If oxygen is not provided there is a strong possibility of generating carbon monoxide, which is a lethal gas.

PLEASE NOTE: In certain models of KitchenAid refrigerators with a STAR-K certified Sabbath Mode, after a power failure, the refrigerator recovers, but is not in Sabbath Mode. Even if the display reads "SAB", a light turns on when the door is opened.
The models that are affected are KRFF507ESS, KRFF507EBL, KRFF507EWH, and KRFF707ESS. If you have one of these models, please email [email protected] (preferred) or call the STAR-K with your specific model and serial number (found on a sticker on right interior wall of the refrigerator). The manufacturer is working on a solution and we will update you when a fix becomes available.

Please be advised that Flavosource Foodstuffs, Guangdong, China, a soy sauce manufacturer, has been terminated due to Kashrus violations. Their product is sold to food manufacturers in large totes.

Natural Earth wishes to advise consumers that there have been reports of infestation in bags of Natural Earth Red Quinoa with expiration code 12-20-20, lot code 154. This infestation seems to have been caused by improper storage in some regions. In consultation with Star-K, Natural Earth is advising that consumers should check these bags prior to use by soaking the quinoa in water for 10-15 minutes and lightly stirring it. If there is infestation present, insects will be seen floating on the surface of the water. If no insects are seen, the quinoa may be used.
